Platinum Solutions Honors its 2004 Crystal Pyramid Award Recipients.

Three outstanding individuals were awarded the 2004 Crystal Pyramid Award:

Senior Consultants, Nicholas Lega and Tom Grant received the INNOVATION award for the groundbreaking work they did on a cryptanalysis project. Manager, Brian Rosenthal received the DEDICATION award for his outstanding contributions in marketing, recruiting and other internal projects.

Platinum Solutions Begins LEILA Phase II for the National Virtual Translation Center

The National Virtual Translation Center (NVTC) has awarded Platinum Solutions Phase II of the Law Enforcement & Intelligence Agency Linguist Access System (LEILA). Phase II will enhance and extend the current system, which was initially developed by Platinum Solutions under the guidance of the FBI Language Services Section.

LEILA provides a Web interface to a comprehensive database of language specialists, including detailed information about language skills and experience. LEILA is accessed by the FBI, DEA, INS, and other agencies associated with law enforcement and intelligence.

Platinum Solutions Partners with SAIC in Technology Refresh Initiative for the DoD

Platinum Solutions is partnering with SAIC to migrate multiple existing DoD applications into a consolidated Java Enterprise application as part of a technology refresh initiative. Platinum Solutions will provide senior software development support, technical architecture support as well as Java/J2EE training and ongoing mentoring to SAIC development staff.

Platinum Solutions Receives Multiple Task Orders from the US Navy.

Under these new task orders, Platinum Solutions will help the Navy meet their goal of reducing occupational illnesses and workday injuries by 50%. This challenge comes directly from the Secretary of Defense, who has tasked the armed services with reducing mishaps by 50% over the next two years.

The new task orders increase the presence Platinum Solutions has in Norfolk, VA more than three-fold. While continuing work on the systems Platinum Solutions has been developing over the last two years, we are helping the Navy and Marine Corps as they save $366M and 119 lives!

Platinum Solutions Works with the Advanced Computer Examination Support for Law Enforcement (ACES) to Develop Computer Forensics Utilities for State and Local Law Enforcement

By partnering with the ACES program, Platinum Solutions will provide additional computer forensic tools and techniques to qualifying law enforcement personnel or related official government personnel.

Platinum Solutions is evaluating tools of interest in the field of Computer Forensics and exploring innovative ways to capture and present digital evidence. The resulting software developed by Platinum Solutions will be added to the ACES suite of tools.

ACES is a congressionally funded program, and the utilities developed by Platinum Solutions will be made available at no cost to their recipients.

Platinum Solutions Selected for Phase II of Evidentiary Metadata System (EVMS) to Expand Computer Forensics Platform

EVMS gives law enforcement the ability to query and pinpoint specific Data on confiscated media including hard, floppy or removable drives; backup media, CDs, PDAs and other data recording devices. EVMS allows law enforcement to more efficiently evaluate digital evidence, solve crimes and present evidence in court. The success of EVMS will help state, local, and federal computer forensics examiners and investigators locate and evaluate digital evidence.

Platinum Solutions is now focused on increasing performance, and providing a more efficient user interface.

Platinum Solutions among winners of FBI Technology Support & Development Project (TSDP) - Firm awarded first two task orders.

As part of the team lead by Data Computer Corporation of America (DCCA), Platinum Solutions has helped secure a new five-year IDIQ contract, potentially worth $42.5 million.

Platinum Solutions is pleased to serve the FBI under this new contract. We will leverage our 5 year relationship and outstanding reputation with the FBI to pursue additional task orders under this contract. By working with the FBI we’re taking pride in the fact that our efforts will save lives and make our country a safer place.

Platinum Solutions partners with the US Navy to complete the safety web application for non-aviation mishaps and hazards. This system for aviation hazard reporting is scheduled to deploy January 2005 and will be available by December 2005.


May 24, 2004

On June 1st, Platinum Solutions will be moving our headquarters to a new office at the Reston Town Center. The new office is located on the fourth floor of the Microsoft building at Two Discovery Square. We may have a better view, but we remain grounded on the same solid foundation.

Platinum Solutions featured in IEEE Spectrum; EVMS Reviewed in Depth.

The Evidentiary Metadata System (EVMS), Platinum Solutions' successful data forensics project is highlighted in IEEE Spectrum magazine's May issue. The article details how EVMS "acts as a Rosetta stone in revealing the meaning of file metadata."

Las Vegas here we come. What happens there is definitely coming back with us!

Each year, Platinum Solutions sends its development team to a prominent industry event. TheServerSide Java Symposium was chosen this year for its focus on server-side Java technologies and development practices that are not found at less specialized or more commercial shows. The symposium is to be held May 6-8, 2004 at The Venetian in Las Vegas, Nevada. Platinum Solutions will remain open for business throughout the week.

Daniel Silva Featured in JavaWorld

Platinum Solutions consultant Daniel Silva has written an article for JavaWorld titled Integrate software development frameworks - Take the best development frameworks and put them to work for you. In the article, Daniel introduces Keel, the open source meta-framework specification and implementation. He presents the tool's benefits and illustrates how to add a spell-check mechanism to an application by wrapping the spellchecker as a Keel service.

Platinum Solutions president Adam Rossi accepted for the MIT and Inc Magazine's "Birthing of Giants" program

Of the more than 300 entrepreneurs that applied for this award only 60 were accepted to this program. From Inc. magazine:

Laila Rossi Joins Platinum Solutions as CEO

Laila Rossi has been named Platinum Solutions Chief Executive Officer. She brings IT consulting and management experience including lifecycle development, software quality assurance and management of software releases, programs/projects, processes, contracts and finances. She will oversee day-to-day operations and further establish process and procedure improvements for Platinum Solutions. Previously, she worked for Accenture, LLC, where she administered multi-million dollar projects for federal government clients. Ms. Rossi served in a variety of roles ranging from software design, development and testing to process improvement and project/program management. She was also involved in leadership development, recruiting, business development and marketing.
