PLATINUM SOLUTIONS, INC. WINS CONTRACT AT DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
Reston, VA (January 19, 2007) - Platinum Solutions, Inc. has been awarded a 20 month contract from the Department of Labor. This project will create a new case management system for the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program (EEOICP). The new case management system, called the Unified Energy Case Management System (Unified ECMS), will replace the current systems, modernize the technical architecture, accommodate new business processes and rules, improve claims processing efficiency, and bring the Office of Workers Compensation Programs (OWCP) technology base into conformance with DOL and federal enterprise architecture standards.
The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) of 2000 is administered by the Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) in OWCP that is part of the Energy Standards Administration (ESA) in DOL. The DEEOIC mission is to deliver benefits to eligible employees and former employees of the Department of Energy (DOE), its contractors and subcontractors, and also to certain survivors of such individuals, as stipulated in the EEOICPA.
The UECMS system is a component-based, multi-tier enterprise application that will provide a "rich-client" experience within standard browser. It will be powered by process definitions and workflows to provide DOL maximum organizational agility at lower cost and substantially reduced risk. The development process will be based on Platinum's proven iterative process that is compliant with DOL's software development life cycle methodology.
