GIT Rockin': The Industry's Second Annual Battle of the Government IT Bands

Platinum Solutions again supported GIT Rockin': the government IT's second annual battle of the bands. Hosted by Federal Computer Week, this friendly competition allows executives - from government and industry alike - to network with peers, colleagues and spouses in a high-energy, out-of-the-industry-norm environment.

All proceeds from GIT Rockin' ticket and band voting sales will be donated to the United Services Organization of Metropolitan Washington (USO-Metro). That means you'll enjoy a great evening of live entertainment, while raising money and awareness for one of the nation's most deserved charities.

"Platinum Training Series" Presents Dr. Venkat Subramaniam

The latest session for our employees and special guests will feature Dr. Venkat Subramaniam. Some of you have had the chance to catch Venkat on the No Fluff tour or at a JUG meeting.

Those familiar with the Chairman, Dr. Venkat Subramaniam, know him for his in-depth knowledge, contagious enthusiasm, and passion for software development. He believes in mastering technologies that improve robustness and productivity, irrespective of their source, and putting them to effective use. He was one of the cofounders of DuraSoft (a Texas Corporation) in 1998. In order to realign with changes within the organization and outside, he started Agile Developer, Inc.

Venkat is an agile developer who teaches and mentors. He has significant experience in architecture, design and development of distributed object systems. He has worked in positions, from Programmer Analyst to Systems Architect, at organizations like Halliburton, Raytheon, and Simulation Sciences. Venkat has trained more than 2500 software professionals around the world. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Houston and teaches the Professional Software Developer Series at the Technology Education Center - Rice University. He is also a regular speaker at various conferences and user groups.

Wine Tour and Tasting at Breaux Vineyards

Platinum Solutions will be hosting an afternoon of wine tasting and tours at Breaux Vineyards. This will be a great opportunity to relax and have some fun in the beautiful country side. The winery is open until 6 that evening so there will be plenty of time to explore the grounds. We will be providing transportation to and from the vineyards.

Platinum Solutions Takes in a Flight at the Joint Service Open House

Platinum Solutions will be organizing a trip to the upcoming air show at Andrews Air Force Base. The Joint Service Open House (http://www.jsoh.org/show.html) runs May 18-20 and admission is FREE. Saturday, May 19th is the day that Platinum Solutions will attend.

We are going to charter a bus/van to the air show. This will be an exciting event for friends and families of Platinum.

2007 No Fluff Just Stuff.com (NFJS) Symposium Tour

Platinum Solutions took part in the 2007 No Fluff Just Stuff.com Symposium Tour: premier technically focused Java/Agility event series. The intimate setting of the NFJS series of symposiums allows for our staff to have face-to-face interaction with many of the leading thinkers in our industry and a chance to review real-world case studies and hands-on code examples.

Platinum Solutions held their annual semi-formal gala at the City Club Franklin Square located in Washington, DC.

Platinum Solutions’ Washington Wizards Game

Platinum Solutions attended the Washington Wizards vs. the New York Knicks on Saturday, March 10 at the Verizon Center. This was a great teambuilding event and we enjoyed watching the Wizards.
