Mentors

On your first day you'll be paired with a senior staff member who will act as a mentor to you during your first several weeks of employment. Your mentor will ensure that you understand our mission, our clients, and our development methodologies and that you have been given all the tools you will need to succeed and perform the functions of your job. Your mentor will also show you where the kitchen is, make sure you get to know the rest of the team, and generally make you feel at home.

Education & Professional Development

We invest heavily in external education programs that enhance professional development and job-related skills for employees. Each year, employees participate in paid professional courses, conferences, seminars, and/or online training programs. When applicable, employees are reimbursed for professional subscriptions, memberships, or books. We also strongly encourage and support staff who write for and publish in professional or peer review publications and/or present at conferences or seminars in their areas of expertise.

Brown Bag Lunches

Often, we get together over lunch to share our ideas and knowledge. Each time, one team member presents on a topic they know best, always leaving time for Q&A. Brown Bag topics range from agile development methodologies or XP to nonprogramming related topics such as negotiation techniques.

Recognition

We routinely recognize performance at team meetings, but if you ask our staff they'll tell you the most coveted prize is to be named one of only four top performers each year who receive the Crystal Pyramid Award in one of three areas: Innovation, Excellence, or Dedication. This prize is awarded based on letters of recommendation from your peers.

Performance Reviews

Our review process ensures that employees receive a performance review at least every year. Salary adjustments result from annual performance reviews, skill/certification adjustments, promotional increases, and market equity adjustments.
